The short version

Use Inkspire to write things. Don't break the law. Don't break our servers. Be kind.

Your work belongs to you. Every word you write in Inkspire stays yours. We claim zero ownership of your stories, characters or notes.
You need an account for cloud features. Sync, collaboration and AI features require signing in. The offline editor works without one.
Pay once, own the version. A purchase unlocks the version you bought, forever. Big updates may be paid; small ones never are.
No illegal content. You may write whatever fiction you like, but you may not use Inkspire to store or share content that's illegal in your country or ours (Sweden).
Don't abuse the AI. Rose AI is for writing help. Don't use it to generate spam, harassment, or content that violates OpenAI's usage policies.
We can shut down accounts that break the rules. After a warning, except for serious violations. Your local files are unaffected — only cloud features stop working.
Software is provided "as is". We work hard to keep Inkspire stable, but we can't be liable for lost work. Always keep your own backups.
14-day refund. If Inkspire isn't for you, email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund — no questions asked.
Disputes settle in Sweden. If we ever can't sort it out over email, Swedish law applies and Stockholm courts decide.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Inkspire applications, websites and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Inkspire HB, a Swedish trading partnership ("we", "us", "our"). By installing, accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area) to use the Service. To use cloud sync, collaboration or AI features you must create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret and for all activity on your account.

3. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Inkspire applications on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business use.

The license is perpetual for the version you purchase. Major version upgrades may require an additional purchase; minor updates and bug fixes are always free.

4. Your content

You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you create, upload, store or share through the Service ("Your Content"). We claim no ownership of Your Content.

To operate the Service (e.g., to sync Your Content between your devices or share it with collaborators you have invited) you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except as required to comply with law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use the Service for anything illegal under Swedish law or the law of your jurisdiction;
upload, store or share content that infringes anyone's intellectual property, depicts child sexual abuse, incites violence, or constitutes harassment or defamation;
attempt to circumvent licensing, rate limits, or security measures;
reverse engineer the Service except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it;
use Rose AI in violation of OpenAI's then-current usage policies.

6. Payments & refunds

All payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in your local currency where supported, otherwise in EUR. Sales tax / VAT is added where applicable.

You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing hello@inkspire.sh. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 10 business days. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.

7. AI features

Rose AI is powered by third-party large language models (currently OpenAI). Outputs are generated probabilistically and may be inaccurate, offensive or biased. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them. We do not warrant that AI outputs are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose, and we do not claim copyright in AI-generated text.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms. Except in cases of fraud, illegality or serious safety risk, we will provide at least one written warning and a reasonable opportunity to cure. Upon termination, your access to cloud features ends; locally-stored data on your devices is unaffected.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR FREE FROM DATA LOSS.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR EUR 50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE OR DATA. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, WILFUL MISCONDUCT, OR ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

12. Changes to the Service or the Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance by email (where provided) and inside the application. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept the new Terms, you may terminate your account and request a pro-rata refund of any unused subscription fees.

13. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Stockholm, Sweden, except that consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence to the extent required by mandatory law.
